I got both interviews and offers and started at my current job within 3 weeks of first posting my resume, after 2 months of unsuccessful applying direct with companies. (Maybe I’m just impatient — though I prefer to say I like to cut through the BS, avoid bureaucracy, and just get to work, and I prefer to work with others who prefer all that as well — my industry is regulated enough without management putting up so much red tape that all we do is talk about that without figuring out how to get to the work that helps the bottom line and company growth — but I digress) In the few months since I’ve started at my awesome job, I even had a big-company recruiter find me through LinkedIn and try to woo me — no mention that I had applied through their corporate website 8 months ago, so I view those absolutely as blackholes. I previously worked at another Fortune 100 who I know posted jobs that they were already planning to fill internally, so I think that’s the norm and thus why I now prefer to work with recruiters, because it’s assuredly a real-deal opening, as long as you vet that the recruiter is real deal and working not just to get their commision but to place you with the right fit (and thus build their reputation and relationship with that company and you, but I consider that attitude winning for everyone)

You should also tailor your resume to show how your work experience specifically meets the needs of the job you’re applying for.

Key skills & strengths. Your resume should include a list of between 10 and 15 skills that link your experience to the job best essays you’re applying for. If the job you’re applying for was advertised, either the ad or the position description may provide a list of skills and experiences that are essential for doing the job.

If you do include a photograph it should be a head and shoulders shot, you should be dressed suitably and smiling: it’s not for a passport!

Normally these would be your name, address, date of birth (although with age discrimination laws now in force this isn’t essential), telephone number and email. British CVs don’t usually include a photograph unless you are an actor. In European countries such as France, Belgium and Germany it’s common for CVs to include a passport-sized photograph in the top right-hand corner whereas in the UK and the USA photographs are frowned upon as this may contravene equal opportunity legislation — a photograph makes it easier to reject a candidate on grounds of ethnicity, sex or age.
